Teeter Totter Temperatures by Pamela Blaies

An Apple, An Orange and a Single White Rose oil on linen 5" x 7" One thing they say in Texas is, "If you don't like the weather, just wait and it will change." That has certainly been true this week. Last Sunday had a high of 76 degrees, then two days later the low of the day was 22! Now, today has been in the 70s and by Sunday it is forecasted to have a low of 30. This see-saw weather is taking a toll on me and I've been feeling a little under the weather, but I thought I would share a little petite I finished this week. Hope you have a great weekend! I love to share my art and inspiration. Click HERE to sign up for my email newsletter and receive a free gift of postcards. Follow me on Facebook.

On my easel...by Kay Wyne

On My Easel.... Yesterday was a great day in the studio.  I started a new painting and here is what I have after scrubbing shapes and color in.  I used a #12 Filbert all the way.  This painting is in an abstract stage, and it may stay that way....not sure.  Starting a new painting is always so much.  I can't wait to get in front of my easel today and work on this painting.  I want to the clouds to be dramatic and bold.  More on this painting tomorrow...Kay

FOOD DANCE COLLAGE by Linda Popple

This is the collage for my Food Dance Series.  I really like it and is a reminder of how much I enjoyed painting this series.   I want to share with you my week in the David Shevlino workshop.  But, first I need to take photos of my paintings and pick some photos from the workshop.  It was a wonderful experience!  I shared time with some amazing artists, learned quite a lot, drank wine and had a great time. David is not only an artist with incredible talents, but he is a good teacher with a generous spirit.  It was a great workshop! To view my blog click HERE .

Sans Souci Garden Path and How to Put a Little Romance in Your Brush by Nancy Medina

Detail: Sans Souci Garden Path by Nancy Medina 20X20 Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Purchase Information Flower Painting Workshops My Web Site Follow Me on Facebook Sign Up for My Art Newsletter! Sans Souci Garden Path is the newest tribute to romance in Flower Mound Art Studio. I created this garden scene by blending many of my Dallas Arboretum photographs with art model photos taken in the past, cutting, pasting and overlapping until I found a composition that worked. With a strong vertical element (the little lady) I needed an equally strong, but less important horizontal element to help push her forward, and create a nice bit of tension for the eye. The fuschia hedgerow filled the bill! You are invited to join me February 14-16 for three days of painting loose, bright, fun flowers and dresses in North Texas in my workshop designed specially for the traveling artist. With free transportation to and from the airport and to class each d...

SOLD  I am working on this painting and think I am about done.  It is at the hanging on the wall state for this horse painting of my painted ponies.  Strong earth tones and cranberry running through with hints of blues and greens in this Pace Painted Pony Pull. Did you ever think about making a decision and then sleeping on it a few nights? Trying it out to see how it fits in your life? Sunset Sailboat painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace, Palette knife painting

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2014 Sunset 12 x 12 inches Oil on Canvas. SOLD  This is a larger version of a smaller painting. Always hard to do. The size of the knife really does not change so working on a large surface and trying to achieve the think strokes of paint can be challenging.  This sailboat painting will take over a month to six weeks to cure enough to be framed.  Wanted to share it though, as it was fun doing it.   And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.  Colossians 3:15 Laurie Pace A Texas Artist   My Blog          My Website          Giclees on Canvas, Prints and Cards    GALLERY LINKS Mirada Fine Art Denver CO ,   The Rare Gallery Jackson Hole WY   The ...

Day 29 of 30 paintings in 30 days by Suzy Pal Powell

Waiting to Hear 6x6 Oil $100 + Shipping suzy_pal2000@yahoo.com   I did this scene from Brownfield, TX in watercolor a while back. I love this scene! I saw it one day several years ago  driving thru town and it just grabbed me, I turned around and went back for another look and a photo of it. It spoke volumes to me.  On here the sky looks a little strong or something.  I have found that taking a photo of an oil painting is not as easy as watercolors because they are shiny, and not so true to the correct color.
