Now if I will just keep going!  It has been harder this time than the first. I think because I did mostly watercolors, and they are harder to paint than oil or acrylic. (for me anyway)  I had fun experimenting with the huge brush and ink. This has been good because I have some up with some new ideas, and hopefully I will paint more.  As with last time, I wondered at times WHY did I do this challenge but when it's all said and done, I am glad I did. It pushed me and challenged me.  Actually one of the hardest things for me is finding what I want to paint.

Georgie Boy 12" x 12" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Contemporary Palette Knife Painting This is  30 Paintings in 30 Days - Day #27 with Leslie Saeta This is yesterday's painting demo at  Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas, Texas  for a group of lovely women from Rockwall, Texas.  We had George, the rooster there live from our neighbors at  Gecko Hardware Store in Lake Highlands  come down and do some modeling.  He was really good for 90 minute session.  I photographed this while it was very wet, so there is a little glare on it.  This paint is very thick!  But because I used impasto, it will dry fast.  It is on a gallery wrap canvas, so no frame is necessary.  Thanks for looking at this blog.  Contact  Kay  with any comments or questions.  Kay

One of the joys of owning homes in two states is the wonderful opportunities for beautiful and different vista's.  This is just after sunset at The Lodge in Cloudcroft, New Mexico.  We were eating and had a great view out the picture windows.  I got up from a great dinner to run outside and snap this picture.  Now that I'm back in my studio in Montgomery, Texas it's the first major painting from this past summer.  I hope you like it. Old Friends  6x6 oil on museum board click here to see auction I just loved the gesture of this old woman walking and  her dedication to come and feed the birds everyday. They seemed like old friends and really kept each other going. That's what friends do:) I do love the juicy paint in this one and would like to try it larger and see if I can keep the same paint quality. I'll keep you posted.
