New "Dreams Ahead" Palette Knife Aspen Tree Painting by Niki Gulley

"Dreams Ahead" ©2017 by Niki Gulley  30" x 40" original textured oil painting Enjoying the melodic tinkling of the aspen leaves rustling in the breeze, the trickling sounds of the babbling brook at our backs, and the beauty of fall ablaze with color, I felt invigorated as I began painting this aspen forest. The setting was so peaceful and rejuvenating that I wanted to communicate that joyful feeling of discovery. Filling the canvas with energetic staccato strokes and bold colors, in addition to gently arching the tree trunks reaching towards the sky, add to that uplifting feeling. And then just a sliver of the trail cutting through the forest, suggests the excitement of the journey that is to come. Jazzy Garden, New Contemporary Landscape Painting by Sheri Jones

Jazzy Garden 20x16 oil on canvas Chandor Gardens in Weatherford created my inspiration for this paining. That and a little photo inducement was the start of this creation. I created this scene before, but the color was too dull for this girl.  I jazzed up the color and created a dynamic design.  This is available for purchase. Please email me for more information.    Sheri@sheriart.net     http://www.sheriart.blogspot.com Thank you for viewing my art. Sheri Jones

The Many by Kay Wyne

The Many 48" x 60" Oil on Heavy Duty Gallery Wrap Canvas  Contemporary Abstract Painting I was in the mood for some great colors and big shapes when I started with this canvas.  I pulled out lots of my transparent to start this canvas, toning it with cad red and cad orange to get ride of the blank white canvas staring at me.  I took a large filbert and drew all over, creating lines and shapes.  I wanted to create an image that was happy, harmonious in color, and allowed the viewer to be pulled in and interested in what I put on the canvas.  Interesting comments have come to me...some viewers see horse races, a crowd of people at a football game or a floral landscape.   "The Many" is a great title for this piece, as it allows the viewer to decide for themselves exactly what they see.  Thanks to Jake Small for naming this canvas!!!  Contact  Kay  for more info on this painting.  Thanks, KMW

Wheat Fields 30" x 30" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Contemporary Landscape Big fluffy clouds moving across the wide open sky, and a colorful field of wheat make this painting a very pleasant one to view.  The eye moves across the field, back to the horizon line and then up to cloud formations.  You get a sense of the depth of the field, and the big sky.  This painting is finished, with the sides of the gallery wrap canvas painted.  Framing is optional, but "Wheat Fields" is ready for a new home.  Contact  Kay  for more information.  Thanks for looking...have an artful day.  KMW

Bruce Bingham paints Corolla, NC.

Plein Air sketches in progress by Bruce Bingham After Annapolis I took advantage of being on the east coast and drove down to Corolla on the Outer Banks for a wedding and reunion with old friends.  By old I mean, friends since elementary school;) It was freezing on the water so I did a quick sketch and headed inland to the historic Corolla village. I wanted to go see the famous Wild Horses on the beach but I'd have to sit in an open air truck and I was already chilled to the bone, in spite of wearing every layer I brought with me. I'll have to so back!!! The Outer Banks hold many fond memories for me and it was great to be on the beach again and seeing much loved friends. If you're in Austin please join me at Austin Art and Frame on Sunday, Nov. 19th, 2-4 for some  Holiday Cheer. 2805 Bee Cave Rd. Austin Hope to see you there!

Tis the Season for Friends, Family and Joy...by Judy Crowe

Tis the Season...for friends, family and joy! "Tis the Season...for friends, family, joy, and a cup of Cheer!" We have so much in this country to be thankful for! Even amid the tragedies we seem to be seeing much more frequently, my aim is to try my best to see the good.....the good in others and the good in whatever situation I find myself in.  Granted, it's not always easy.  Sometimes I just want to grovel in the sadness for a while but then I have to remind myself that in doing so only brings myself and those I love down so in the spirit of Thanksgiving, I would like to wish each of you a very happy holiday season in the hope that you will find some joy in the days that are upon us and that you are able to focus on the good and not the bad.  (I may have to remind myself from time to time!). Thank you for  reading this blog.  For those of you that have purchased from me in the past, thank you for your support and I hope you have and are still e...
