New "Gondola Ride" Oil Painting by Palette Knife Painter Niki Gulley

"Gondola Ride," Venice ©2019 Niki Gulley 12" x 9" oil painting I painted this piece on location during our Art Trek we taught in Venice while their infamous Carnival celebration was taking place. Since St. Mark's Square can get overrun with tourists, we chose to set up our easels along a side street to enjoy the peacefulness and beauty of the city. I love the magical light that comes flooding in through the canals and is so distinctive of Venice. The stone bridge with its iron railing sets a perfect backdrop to the gondolier rowing his enchanted passengers through the romantic back canals. Or, E-mail  Niki Gulley for more details. ••• To see "Gondola Ride" on display until Dec. 1st, please visit: The Goodrich Gallery – One Woman Show: Niki Gulley Nov. 1st – Dec. 1st Gallery hours: Saturdays: 9 a.m. – Noon Sundays: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. ...

Pear Orchard Road Study, New Contemporary Landscape Painting by Sheri Jones

Pear Orchard Road Study 9x12 oil on wood panel I created this after painting outside at this location.  I was planning my demo at  Dutch Art Gallery  and wanted to work out the colors and design. Practicing on this ahead of time and becoming familiar with the scene helps when painting in front of a group. I changed things up a bit in the demo. New "Rainbow of Shade" Palette Knife Painting from Cinque Terre by Niki Gulley

"Rainbow of Shade," Vernazza  ©2019 Niki Gulley 9" x 12" Textured oil painting Cinque Terre and Lake Como Art Trek with Niki Gulley and Scott Williams Day3 - Vernazza Painted on location, I loved the colorful array of large umbrellas shading all of the café tables in Vernazza, Italy. Above someone has left their shutters open to catch the cool breeze and finish drying that one last towel on the line. Below multi-colored boats await for their owners to float out to sea. I hope I can transport you to this festive spot so that you can dine al fresco and enjoy the relaxing pace. ••• To see "Rainbow of Shade" on display until Dec. 1st, please visit: The Goodrich Gallery – One Woman Show: Niki Gulley Nov. 1st – Dec. 1st Gallery hours: Saturdays: 9 a.m. – Noon Sundays: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.  1928 Ross Avenue Dallas, Texas 75201  (214) 220-2727  firstchurchdallas.org/goodrich-gallery-calendar-of-artists/  firstchurchda...

"Painted Harbor" Palette Knife Painting from Portree, Scotland by Niki Gulley

"Painted Harbor" ©2019 Niki Gulley SOLD  • 9" x 12” textured oil painting Scotland Art Trek –  Days 3 and 4: Isle of Skye - Portree Led by Niki Gulley and Scott Williams Just Sold!  Following our two days in Edinburgh, we drove to the Isle of Skye for our next stop on our Scotland Art Trek. Making home base in the picturesque town of Portree, we checked in that night, grabbed a delicious dinner and crashed so that we could get an early start the next day. We spent that morning exploring the unique, other-worldly, lush area known as Fairy Glen. Returning to Portree for lunch, the weather cleared just in time for us to start painting and photographing. We set up our easels at this postcard-perfect overlook of the colorful painted harbor below. Meanwhile the photographers visited Old Man of Storr to hike up to the amazing overlook and capture Isle of Skye's unique beauty. That evening we reconnected for an amazing dinner and a perfect end to the day. Part ...

Nighttime in St. Mark's Palette Knife Painting by Niki Gulley

"Nighttime in St. Mark's," Venice  ©2019 Niki Gulley 9" x 12" textured oil painting  Venice is one of the most romantic cities I’ve visited, and at night it is especially dreamy, quieting down from the tourist traffic and filled with sparkle and energy.  In St. Mark’s Square, you can hear the sounds of live music while couples dine al fresco or stroll through the dimly lit open corridors. Gorgeous marble tile floors line the walkways while golden arches frame the iconic views. I wanted to capture that magical feeling and transport you back to fond memories of your Venetian vacation. To see more of my travel paintings, visit  nikigulley.com . Or, E-mail  Niki Gulley for more details. ••• To see "Nighttime in St. Mark's" on display until Dec. 1st, please visit: The Goodrich Gallery – One Woman Show: Niki Gulley Nov. 1st – Dec. 1st Gallery hours: Saturdays: 9 a.m. – Noon Sundays: 8 a.m. – 5 p....

Autumn on the Ranch, New Contemporary Landscape Painting by Sheri Jones

Autumn On the Ranch 7x14 oil on canvas This was a view of a ranch from the road side where I set up to paint. There are views in all direction and there is a place to pull off the road.  I can find nice views I want to paint, but there is not always a place to park.  This is just one of the challenges of a plein air painter.   To purchase or see more http://www.sherijonesart.com Sheri@sherijonesart.com http://www.sheriart.blogspot.com. Yellow Garden Roses by artist Pat Meyer

11 x 14 oil on linen contact artist to purchase Pat@Meyer.net My garden roses were so wonderful right up to Nov. this year when the heavy frost took them away into dormant life.  They loved to climb the fence and intertwine with each other.  They seem so depended on each other to support themselves throughout each day.   Rose's life seems so close to our lives.  Most days we depend on our friendship to survive the day.  We give thanks for the beautiful flowers to show us how to live a life of beauty. www.PatMeyer-artist.com Signature Member Artist of Texas, Oil Painters of America, American Impressionist Society, NOAPS, WAOW, Artist of the Heartland

Lessons from "This Beautiful Fantastic"

Recently I read a blog entitled "What is  Your  Focus". I've been thinking a lot about this lately. We all have challenges but stepping back from the those is sometimes difficult..... and I was having a hard time stepping back after having some disappointing eye opening experiences this year. I began to realize that I need to do some things differently..think differently but was having trouble even starting. I had been dwelling on this for a while when I stumbled across a movie that shifted my thinking. I think it's called a paradigm shift. By definition "the concept of a paradigm shift has been used in numerous contexts to describe a profound change in a fundamental model or perception of events." I was surfing Amazon for a way to unwind when my husband was engaged in a football game that I wasn't interested in...and I happened across "This Beautiful Fantastic". I highly recommend it. It's a magical tale of a young woman'...

Contemporary Colorful Landscape, Tree Painting, Mixed Media, “Approach The Garden” By Passionate Purposeful Painter Holly Hunter Berry

I’ve always enjoyed looking through those books showcasing beautiful gardens that seem to invite a visitor to sit and enjoy the view. Those get the attention but not all gardens are that spectacular. I am often grateful for a bit of shade and some unusual plants that have survived on their own to surround my bench or even just my blanket on the ground. I treasure the moments I can spend outside surrounded by the simple beauty of nature. It’s these times I first express sincere gratitude to the Creator of the creations and then rest in the moment. Yes, it must be repeated, gratitude is the position I take as I “Approach the Garden”. Perhaps the garden can be anywhere and everywhere...for this I am grateful! 24"x36"x2" Mixed Media on Canvas/Available Click HERE for purchase info. "Morning Shadows," Provence by Contemporary Impressionist Niki Gulley

"Morning Shadows," Provence ©2019  Niki Gulley 12" x 9" textured oil painting On the first night of our Plein Air Painting and Photography Workshop that my husband, Scott Williams, and I led in southern France, we arrived at our B and B and went into town that evening for a wine tasting and amazing dinner at a Michelin-star restaurant. The food was out of this world, the weather was perfect for dining outside, and our new group was great company! The next morning, our painters stayed at our b and b and painted right there since the grounds were so beautiful. The light raking across the balcony and shutters was so dramatic, and I loved how the gnarly trees framed the composition to make a window within a window. Meanwhile, the photographers visited a nearby 11th century Abbey and took some incredible photographs. We met up later that day and headed to the nearby town of Arles for lunch. Wine tasting in Provence. ••• To see...
