“Headed For Home” is the title for this painting and this time it seemed to name itself! I occasionally have a painting that not only paints itself (almost) but also has a strong identity. Home means different things but this painting tells the story of our hearts longing to be home, in a place of safety and comfort, a place we can be welcomed. The light is always on and leading us back home no matter where our travels lead. The light shown here represents to me the light of Christ as He leads the way home. This was painted from a photo taken at the Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve .  It's a beautiful place to visit and take a walk. I hope to visit again....when it's not so hot!
