Longing for a cool beach and the cathartic sounds of the ocean, I started with drippy, fluid paint and  then built up thick texture to bring the seaside waves to life. Slightly abstract, loose and free, I hope you can feel the healing qualities of the water, especially if we can't get there ourselves right now. I tend to look at the ground while walking so I don’t trip and fall again. I seem to break bones easily these days! When I did stop one day and look up, the scene was breathtaking! I just stood there and took the time to stare at the leaves of many colors and the light dancing on and through them. In my walk through life I’ve learned that my answers to questions come from above and so I created this painting, “One Answer” to illustrate that there is but one answer to my questions and it is to look up and listen to the Creator of all. Many people respond to this painting because of the contrast of colors and it’s drama. I hope this painting will be a blessing to anyone that takes a moment to look at it and allows it to tell you it’s message. I live in a city that has had incredible growth but I’m not always happy to see buildings destroyed to put up new ones. I am a bit nostalgic and wonder why buildings can’t just be restored. I looked to the landscape to watch how in nature an area can be altered by the years and evolve. Restoration appears to be an ongoing occurrence and perhaps a model for our lives. Spring Trail by Sheri Jones 12x9 oil on panel Sold This delightful painting was inspired from the banks of the Brazos River. Spending time in nature, painting, gathering ideas and observing are part of the process. I came home filled with ideas and created this.
