    "Soaring Dreams II" ©2021 Niki Gulley textured oil painting on canvas • 34" x 34" In this painting I wanted you to feel that child-like wonder of staring up into the treetops and heavens above. Choosing uplifting golds and reds contrasted against a lavender-blue sky with gentle clouds drifting by, I've arranged the aspens in a circular pattern to give you a sense of laying on the ground, surrounded by the forest. Using diagonal leading lines with the tree trunks and limbs, your eye gazes into the focal point where all of the elements come together.    Royal Rows ©2021 Niki Gulley 20” x 30” textured mixed media on canvas Inspired by a trip to Provence, these lavender fields were gorgeous and stretched as far as the eye could see! I wanted to focus on the perfectly planted purple rows, contrasted against the vibrant yellow sunflowers in the distance. I love how those colors pop next to each other. Fluffy clouds drift by in diagonal patterns that mimic the lavender aisles and create a harmony throughout the scene. Perspective lines converge, leading you to this joyful spot and I hope you can smell the amazing aromas and feel your spirits lifted while gazing into this scene.   "Memories of Sunshine II" ©2021 Niki Gulley 30" x 40" textured painting on wrap around canvas "Memories of Sunshine" was inspired by our trip to Provence, France. Our timing was perfect and the sunflowers were in full bloom. Their bright, smiling faces as big as dinner plates, the sun dappled path leading you deep into the golden field to the quaint stone farmhouse in the distance, and a beautiful summer day with a few peaceful clouds drifting by made for the ideal subject.   "Autumn in Tuscany" ©2021 Niki Gulley  10" x 20” textured oil painting During our Tuscany Foodie Trek, we stay in the middle of the countryside at a villa surrounded by 360 degree views of the rolling hills and valleys and nearby hill towns. One of the best vantage points and probably my favorite town in Tuscany is Pienza. Perched on high, the city towers over everything around and seems to actually draw the passing clouds to its bell tower and church steeple. "Scenic Byway" ©2021 Niki Gulley 20" x 10" textured oil painting on canvas Painted just outside of Santa Fe, the fall colors in were gorgeous! We arrived shortly after sunrise to capture the best light of the day, but unfortunately the temperature was starting out near 32 degrees. Luckily the temperatures rose quickly as the morning wore on, I was able to shed my parka and winter gear, and it ended up being a beautiful day. "Autumn Concerto II" ©2020 Niki Gulley SOLD • 16" x 20" textured oil painting  Just sold through The Statton Gallery!  I painted this colorful birch trees on location with the fall hues emerging in all of their glory. I loved this grove of trunks that twisted and turned, slicing bright white through the tangle of autumn leaves. Painted over several mornings, the air was crisp but the sun made for beautiful painting conditions that illuminated the subject and warmed the air. "Reaching to Heaven"  20" x 16" textured oil painting on  canvas panel The white bark of these glorious aspens rising towards the sky, reminds me of the columns holding up the roof of a cathedral. With the electric blue sky combined with the vibrant yellow leaves, this is my idea of the heaven that is nature.
