Farm to Market Girls by Sheri Jones

Farm to Market Girls by Sheri Jones
10 x 8 oil on canvas
This was painted today during the Quick Draw on the Waxahachie Court House Lawn. The street was lined with farmers and vendors selling their wares. These two ladies were bouncy around like jelly beans. As soon as they sat they stood. They walked around and moved the chairs several times. It was so funny chasing them with my paint brush. So this really is my impression and completed in less than 90 minutes!
Sold at the auction following the quick draw.
We have a week to paint our impression of the town and there will be a show and sale June 5 and June 6 -10 - 5 at Chautauqua Auditorium in the park.

The Old Mill Study, Barbara Haviland

#mill,#water,#building,#11x14,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com This painting was part of a study.  We had the photo and I painted it then watched the demo. I always do that.  I like to change my painting up a bit. It is painted on a hardboard panel that has canvas adhered to it.  I have used this method for years. I don't care for the spring of a stretched canvas.  Thanks for viewing my art ~~Barbara Available  GALLERY INFO Barbara Haviland Fine Art 1579 County Road 1010 Woodville, Texas 75979 409-332-0141 Website

Central Fire Station Lake Charles, La Barbara Haviland

CENTRAL FIRE STATION LAKE CHARLES, LA #CentralFireStation,#HIstoric,#Building,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com Central Fire Station  no longer exists in  Lake Charles, La.  I had some old photos that I used to paint this painting.   24"x40"  and it is signed and framed, but you must come pick it up. I was told that the station burned down and they built another.
I haven’t posted here in a long time, partly because my artistic endeavors have taken a turn toward quilting instead of painting.   But this quilt started as a painting which I had printed on fabric and then turned it into a quilt.  So maybe I can slip it into the blog!  If you are interested in seeing more, let me know!
