Summer Respite is a new work based on one of my favorite places, Balboa Park in San Diego. This large, beautiful park is free to the public. The museums, live musical performances, old Spanish Architecture, and fountains are enough to keep an artist mesmerized all day long. The best time to visit is right at dusk, when sun throws the golden light on the stucco facades and the fuschia crepe myrtles toss blue shadows. I've been daydreaming about the park lately, it has been way too long since I last visited.
