KATIE'S FLOWERS by Linda Popple

6x6 Oil on Ampersand Gessobord

This will be the last of the flower paintings for a while. These beauties are past their prime. Luckily more flowers are available when I am ready to paint them again. By the way, Katie is my graddaughter. The first of nine to be born 13 years ago. She gave me the vase and the flowers remind me of her sunny personality!

On another note - I am sure you heard that Tony Curtis passed away. He was in one of my all time favorite movies, Some Like It Hot with Jack Lemmon and Marilyn Monroe. Even thinking about it will bring a smile! Thanks to YouTube I can share with you a clip from that movie. Click HERE and ENJOY!

The Old Mill Study, Barbara Haviland

#mill,#water,#building,#11x14,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com This painting was part of a study.  We had the photo and I painted it then watched the demo. I always do that.  I like to change my painting up a bit. It is painted on a hardboard panel that has canvas adhered to it.  I have used this method for years. I don't care for the spring of a stretched canvas.  Thanks for viewing my art ~~Barbara Available  GALLERY INFO Barbara Haviland Fine Art 1579 County Road 1010 Woodville, Texas 75979 409-332-0141 Website

Central Fire Station Lake Charles, La Barbara Haviland

CENTRAL FIRE STATION LAKE CHARLES, LA #CentralFireStation,#HIstoric,#Building,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com Central Fire Station  no longer exists in  Lake Charles, La.  I had some old photos that I used to paint this painting.   24"x40"  and it is signed and framed, but you must come pick it up. I was told that the station burned down and they built another.
I haven’t posted here in a long time, partly because my artistic endeavors have taken a turn toward quilting instead of painting.   But this quilt started as a painting which I had printed on fabric and then turned it into a quilt.  So maybe I can slip it into the blog!  If you are interested in seeing more, let me know!
