This oil painting measures 20"x36" and is done from my photos and imagination. The magnolia is the state flower of Louisiana and the almost everywhere you go, you can see the bayou. I like to change my painting up a bit. It is painted on a hardboard panel that has canvas adhered to it. I have used this method for years. I don't care for the spring of a stretched canvas. CENTRAL FIRE STATION LAKE CHARLES, LA #CentralFireStation,#HIstoric,#Building,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com Central Fire Station no longer exists in Lake Charles, La. I had some old photos that I used to paint this painting. 24"x40" and it is signed and framed, but you must come pick it up. I was told that the station burned down and they built another.

I haven’t posted here in a long time, partly because my artistic endeavors have taken a turn toward quilting instead of painting. But this quilt started as a painting which I had printed on fabric and then turned it into a quilt. So maybe I can slip it into the blog! If you are interested in seeing more, let me know!
