Petal Pilate Sunflowers by Nancy Medina

Petal Pilate Sunflowers by Nancy Medina

It's a chilly Christmas in Flower Mound Studio, as my new large work, Petal Pilate Sunflowers, dries on the easel. My holiday helpers today, Howie and Annabelle, are wearing matching scarves thanks to their visit to the groomer yesterday. The pugs wanted to be squeaky clean for Santa Paws, undoubtedly Howie hopes the hygiene points will cancel out just a bit of his badness for the past year.

I hope you are snuggled indoors with your loved ones, with visions of sugarplums dancing through your head this eve - Merry Christmas and thank you for joining me in 2010 for my art journey. It has been such a joy to have you here with me sharing encouragement and smiles.

Happy holidays from me and the fatty-helpers!

The Old Mill Study, Barbara Haviland

#mill,#water,#building,#11x14,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com This painting was part of a study.  We had the photo and I painted it then watched the demo. I always do that.  I like to change my painting up a bit. It is painted on a hardboard panel that has canvas adhered to it.  I have used this method for years. I don't care for the spring of a stretched canvas.  Thanks for viewing my art ~~Barbara Available  GALLERY INFO Barbara Haviland Fine Art 1579 County Road 1010 Woodville, Texas 75979 409-332-0141 Website

Central Fire Station Lake Charles, La Barbara Haviland

CENTRAL FIRE STATION LAKE CHARLES, LA #CentralFireStation,#HIstoric,#Building,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com Central Fire Station  no longer exists in  Lake Charles, La.  I had some old photos that I used to paint this painting.   24"x40"  and it is signed and framed, but you must come pick it up. I was told that the station burned down and they built another.
I haven’t posted here in a long time, partly because my artistic endeavors have taken a turn toward quilting instead of painting.   But this quilt started as a painting which I had printed on fabric and then turned it into a quilt.  So maybe I can slip it into the blog!  If you are interested in seeing more, let me know!
