The Galvez Hotel in Galveston, TX was built to replace a 19th century hotel that was demolished by a hurricane. This year is the centennial of the opening of the Galvez. This is my perspective place that is a beautiful structure in itself but the surroundings are also spectacular. It's across the street from the Gulf of Mexico, a band of which can be seen in the background here.
