"Hill Country Vista" by Kyle Wood

"Hill Country Vista" - 16" x 20" Oil on Canvas

This painting reminds me of all the beautiful rolling hills and winding roads that seem to go on forever and ever through The Texas Hill Country. There is so many neat places, towns to visit in this region of Texas. It is especially beautiful when the Bluebonnets and other wildflowers, like Indian Paintbrushes, Prickly Poppies, and Cactus are blooming. I really enjoy painting landscapes with the countrysides covered in wildflowers. Trips that I have taken through the Texas Hill Country have served as a great inspiration and resource for many of my paintings, whether it is spring day filled with the aroma of wildflowers or a crisp, cool autumn day soaking in the breathtaking colors in the trees.

The Old Mill Study, Barbara Haviland

#mill,#water,#building,#11x14,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com This painting was part of a study.  We had the photo and I painted it then watched the demo. I always do that.  I like to change my painting up a bit. It is painted on a hardboard panel that has canvas adhered to it.  I have used this method for years. I don't care for the spring of a stretched canvas.  Thanks for viewing my art ~~Barbara Available  GALLERY INFO Barbara Haviland Fine Art 1579 County Road 1010 Woodville, Texas 75979 409-332-0141 Website

Central Fire Station Lake Charles, La Barbara Haviland

CENTRAL FIRE STATION LAKE CHARLES, LA #CentralFireStation,#HIstoric,#Building,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com Central Fire Station  no longer exists in  Lake Charles, La.  I had some old photos that I used to paint this painting.   24"x40"  and it is signed and framed, but you must come pick it up. I was told that the station burned down and they built another.
I haven’t posted here in a long time, partly because my artistic endeavors have taken a turn toward quilting instead of painting.   But this quilt started as a painting which I had printed on fabric and then turned it into a quilt.  So maybe I can slip it into the blog!  If you are interested in seeing more, let me know!
