"Bluebonnet Spring" by Vonnie Kohn, contemporary rural landscape

"Bluebonnet Spring"

16 x 20 Oil (sold)

The state flower of Texas is the bluebonnet. In mid-late spring, these flowers grow in mass profusion in North and Central Texas. There are several regions that host designated tours just to see these fields of intense "cobalt blue" flowers. Many artists in our state focus in this genre only. I always delight to go to Fredericksburg during this time & paint these flowers in plein air. The German farm, the windmill and water tank, the bluebonnets are lacking in just one thing--cattle. Those were down the road and across the cattle guard. Although this painting is sold, there are others....please visit my website to enjoy.

The Old Mill Study, Barbara Haviland

#mill,#water,#building,#11x14,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com This painting was part of a study.  We had the photo and I painted it then watched the demo. I always do that.  I like to change my painting up a bit. It is painted on a hardboard panel that has canvas adhered to it.  I have used this method for years. I don't care for the spring of a stretched canvas.  Thanks for viewing my art ~~Barbara Available  GALLERY INFO Barbara Haviland Fine Art 1579 County Road 1010 Woodville, Texas 75979 409-332-0141 Website
