Spring Song Geraniums is drying on the easel, based on the geraniums that are blooming on my deck today. These beautiful red blossoms are always the first to remind me that spring will come again. Studio Assistant Monsieur Howie was on the deck today to assist, looking tres chic in his new beret. You can see a photo of Mister Howie on my art blog today. He is always my best model when friends send their wonderful hats and pug creations.

I like to change my painting up a bit. It is painted on a hardboard panel that has canvas adhered to it. I have used this method for years. I don't care for the spring of a stretched canvas. CENTRAL FIRE STATION LAKE CHARLES, LA #CentralFireStation,#HIstoric,#Building,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com Central Fire Station no longer exists in Lake Charles, La. I had some old photos that I used to paint this painting. 24"x40" and it is signed and framed, but you must come pick it up. I was told that the station burned down and they built another.

I haven’t posted here in a long time, partly because my artistic endeavors have taken a turn toward quilting instead of painting. But this quilt started as a painting which I had printed on fabric and then turned it into a quilt. So maybe I can slip it into the blog! If you are interested in seeing more, let me know!
