    I did this painting at the Paint Historic Waxahachie paintout. Most people did buildings and homes but I wanted more of a landscape so I found this field near the bike trails at the edge of town. It was a very windy and hot day. I dont know how hot it was in Waxahachie but in Fort Worth My parents said it got to 102. Very hot for May. Despite the heat I had a great time.

Central Fire Station Lake Charles, La Barbara Haviland

  CENTRAL FIRE STATION LAKE CHARLES, LA #CentralFireStation,#HIstoric,#Building,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com Central Fire Station  no longer exists in  Lake Charles, La.  I had some old photos that I used to paint this painting.   24"x40"  and it is signed and framed, but you must come pick it up. I was told that the station burned down and they built another.

 I haven’t posted here in a long time, partly because my artistic endeavors have taken a turn toward quilting instead of painting.   But this quilt started as a painting which I had printed on fabric and then turned it into a quilt.  So maybe I can slip it into the blog!  If you are interested in seeing more, let me know!
