Even though Tuscan paintings seem to be everywhere, I never tire of painting the breathtaking landscapes of that area. Italy has always been one of my favorite places to visit so I have hundreds of photos from which to choose. "Tuscan Valley" depicts a typical Tuscan home surrounded by hills, vineyards, and Italian cypress. It will be for sale at upcoming Artists of Texas show & sale, The Spirit of Texas, featured at the Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas. The show will run from November 5 through December 31, 2011.

I like to change my painting up a bit. It is painted on a hardboard panel that has canvas adhered to it. I have used this method for years. I don't care for the spring of a stretched canvas. Central Fire Station Lake Charles, La Barbara Haviland

I had some old photos that I used to paint this painting. 24"x40" and it is signed and framed, but you must come pick it up. I was told that the station burned down and they built another.

I haven’t posted here in a long time, partly because my artistic endeavors have taken a turn toward quilting instead of painting. But this quilt started as a painting which I had printed on fabric and then turned it into a quilt. So maybe I can slip it into the blog! If you are interested in seeing more, let me know!
