Sumac Bushes by Sheri Jones

Sumac Bushes by Sheri Jones
9x12 oil on canvas

The forecast for Wednesday was temperatures in the seventies with calm winds. When I heard that I scheduled a day off work. I was not disappointed.
I have passed this spot daily and thought I could find something here to paint. The sumac bushes appeared to be glowing in the morning sun. It was a good spot and a great morning.
I painted this with a #28 Galleria (1 1/4" wide). It was a challenge on such a small canvas.
This is available for purchase. $125.00

I have paintings showing this month at:
Granbury's Visitor Center, Granbury, Texas (Show ends 11/30/2011)

Miniture Show, LGAA-Shanley House, Granbury, Texas

Dutch Art Gallery, Dallas, Texas
*** I will be there doing a painting demo on Saturday, December 3, 2011 - 11 a - 4 p
I would love to see you there.

The Old Mill Study, Barbara Haviland

#mill,#water,#building,#11x14,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com This painting was part of a study.  We had the photo and I painted it then watched the demo. I always do that.  I like to change my painting up a bit. It is painted on a hardboard panel that has canvas adhered to it.  I have used this method for years. I don't care for the spring of a stretched canvas.  Thanks for viewing my art ~~Barbara Available  GALLERY INFO Barbara Haviland Fine Art 1579 County Road 1010 Woodville, Texas 75979 409-332-0141 Website

Central Fire Station Lake Charles, La Barbara Haviland

CENTRAL FIRE STATION LAKE CHARLES, LA #CentralFireStation,#HIstoric,#Building,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com Central Fire Station  no longer exists in  Lake Charles, La.  I had some old photos that I used to paint this painting.   24"x40"  and it is signed and framed, but you must come pick it up. I was told that the station burned down and they built another.
I haven’t posted here in a long time, partly because my artistic endeavors have taken a turn toward quilting instead of painting.   But this quilt started as a painting which I had printed on fabric and then turned it into a quilt.  So maybe I can slip it into the blog!  If you are interested in seeing more, let me know!
