Mark Nesmith, Sam Houston Painting to be published in the March issue of The Raven for the Sons of the Republic of Texas
I'd like to give a special thanks to Dr. Joe Allen Rice (Doc Rice) from the Sam Houston Chapter of the Sons of the Republic for including my painting of the Sam Houston statue at Huntsville in the March issue of The Raven newsletter. Doc stumbled upon my painting online and thought it'd be perfect to commemorate the birth month of Sam Houston. Members of the Sons of the Republic of Texas are direct descendants of the early Texas settlers before the Lone Star State became part of the USA. The SRT helps keep the memory and spirit of the men and women who helped Texas achieve independence alive. It's an honor to have my painting included in their publication.
