Spring Promise Poppies is the newest painting in Flower Mound Studio. I've been hard at work on a few new commissions lately, while the siren song of red poppies was all the while calling my name. This is the first of three panels of 18X18 gallery wrap canvas, so stay tuned to watch the fields continue to blossom and grow over the next few weeks! The helpers are well into the alpha rest state, which means one must turn up the TV volume to hear over the little snores. I received a very exciting new pug accoutrement in the mail today, a case for my IPad, which was aptly named my "IPug" by the hubby, who sets up all things technical in the Medina Foster Home for Wayward Pugs.Visit my art blog today to see it! This absolutely perfect case displays the art of my talented friend Melissa Langer. Melissa's Web site, www.pugnotes.com, is where I go every time I want to buy myself something that will absolutely delight. My art studio is filled with her creations, in fact I am leaning on her pillow right now!

The Old Mill Study, Barbara Haviland

#mill,#water,#building,#11x14,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com This painting was part of a study.  We had the photo and I painted it then watched the demo. I always do that.  I like to change my painting up a bit. It is painted on a hardboard panel that has canvas adhered to it.  I have used this method for years. I don't care for the spring of a stretched canvas.  Thanks for viewing my art ~~Barbara Available  GALLERY INFO Barbara Haviland Fine Art 1579 County Road 1010 Woodville, Texas 75979 409-332-0141 Website

Central Fire Station Lake Charles, La Barbara Haviland

CENTRAL FIRE STATION LAKE CHARLES, LA #CentralFireStation,#HIstoric,#Building,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com Central Fire Station  no longer exists in  Lake Charles, La.  I had some old photos that I used to paint this painting.   24"x40"  and it is signed and framed, but you must come pick it up. I was told that the station burned down and they built another.
I haven’t posted here in a long time, partly because my artistic endeavors have taken a turn toward quilting instead of painting.   But this quilt started as a painting which I had printed on fabric and then turned it into a quilt.  So maybe I can slip it into the blog!  If you are interested in seeing more, let me know!
