Today's painting, entitled "THE PUMPHOUSE" is an 11"x14", studio painting from a plein air study, oil on canvas panel, by Texas modern impressionist Jimmy Longacre.

This was a careful observation of the variety of greens in our Texas landscape, seen in sunlight, shade, and foreground to distance.

I like to change my painting up a bit. It is painted on a hardboard panel that has canvas adhered to it. I have used this method for years. I don't care for the spring of a stretched canvas. I had some old photos that I used to paint this painting. 24"x40" and it is signed and framed, but you must come pick it up. I was told that the station burned down and they built another.

I haven’t posted here in a long time, partly because my artistic endeavors have taken a turn toward quilting instead of painting. But this quilt started as a painting which I had printed on fabric and then turned it into a quilt. So maybe I can slip it into the blog! If you are interested in seeing more, let me know!
