Thrice Bright Sunflowers and a New Video by Texas Flower Artist Nancy Medina

Oil on Linen Board

Thrice Bright is the newest sunflower painting in Flower Mound Studio. Even though the pugs are dozing and the house is quiet, I'm having a little party in the studio - I'm excited to announce my first sunflower video! The hubby is working on the full length DVD video for me, which is fortunate, considering the only thing I know how to do on an IMac is to overfill the memory with photographs of flowers. I detected a bit of shock and awe when he discovered last week I had filled up the entire Mac hard drive in less than 12 months. But that's a problem for another day, since today we're celebrating! Take a peek at my new video and let me know what you think!

The Old Mill Study, Barbara Haviland

#mill,#water,#building,#11x14,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com This painting was part of a study.  We had the photo and I painted it then watched the demo. I always do that.  I like to change my painting up a bit. It is painted on a hardboard panel that has canvas adhered to it.  I have used this method for years. I don't care for the spring of a stretched canvas.  Thanks for viewing my art ~~Barbara Available  GALLERY INFO Barbara Haviland Fine Art 1579 County Road 1010 Woodville, Texas 75979 409-332-0141 Website

Central Fire Station Lake Charles, La Barbara Haviland

CENTRAL FIRE STATION LAKE CHARLES, LA #CentralFireStation,#HIstoric,#Building,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com Central Fire Station  no longer exists in  Lake Charles, La.  I had some old photos that I used to paint this painting.   24"x40"  and it is signed and framed, but you must come pick it up. I was told that the station burned down and they built another.
I haven’t posted here in a long time, partly because my artistic endeavors have taken a turn toward quilting instead of painting.   But this quilt started as a painting which I had printed on fabric and then turned it into a quilt.  So maybe I can slip it into the blog!  If you are interested in seeing more, let me know!
