Contemporary Oil Painting
This is a 18" x 18" oil painting on a gallery wrap canvas. Very colorful. Inspired by yarn. Lots of stacked up yarn in a bin. It is a kaleidoscope of variegated colors. I thought I would rename this painting, but Yarn it is. I was thinking that a series of yarn paintings might be interesting...take  a trip through a yarn shop and see all of the beautiful colors, textures and thicknesses of the yarns.  Maybe I will put that on my to-do list.  I am getting ready to start a new series for 2013, but I have not decided exactly what my guidelines for that series will be.  Please contact me if you are interested in purchasing. Central Fire Station Lake Charles, La Barbara Haviland

  CENTRAL FIRE STATION LAKE CHARLES, LA #CentralFireStation,#HIstoric,#Building,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com Central Fire Station  no longer exists in  Lake Charles, La.  I had some old photos that I used to paint this painting.   24"x40"  and it is signed and framed, but you must come pick it up. I was told that the station burned down and they built another.

 I haven’t posted here in a long time, partly because my artistic endeavors have taken a turn toward quilting instead of painting.   But this quilt started as a painting which I had printed on fabric and then turned it into a quilt.  So maybe I can slip it into the blog!  If you are interested in seeing more, let me know!
