Sunkissed Sunflowers is the newest painting on the easel, and is a jar full of memories from the farm. This morning Mom reminded me that she and Dad grew sunflowers next to the stalks of corn on the front five acres of our farm, because the two plants pollinated one another. She said that not all flowers were planted within the crop lines to attract insects off the crops, but some of them actually repelled the insects altogether. I've been enjoying so much this time with mom, even though she is now in the care of Hospice, even though her doctor says not much time is left for her. In some ways these days together are the best of all.
