Snow in May by Jill Randall

Snow in May by Jill Randall
5"x7" Pastel
My husband and I are in Alaska where we spend our summers.  It is a colder season this year with winter hanging on an extra two weeks.  We had a beautiful snowy morning May 18.  However, by afternoon it had melted away.  Finally this last week in May the temperatures are rising with 40 degrees at night and middle 50’s during the day.  The sun and the long daylight (18 hrs) help brighten the area.  We love hearing the Sandhill Cranes as they look for nesting places.  We hear and see a pair of Eagles circling about the spruce trees.  A mother moose and her three yearlings wander through the yard at different times.  Spring is coming to Alaska.

The Old Mill Study, Barbara Haviland

#mill,#water,#building,#11x14,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com This painting was part of a study.  We had the photo and I painted it then watched the demo. I always do that.  I like to change my painting up a bit. It is painted on a hardboard panel that has canvas adhered to it.  I have used this method for years. I don't care for the spring of a stretched canvas.  Thanks for viewing my art ~~Barbara Available  GALLERY INFO Barbara Haviland Fine Art 1579 County Road 1010 Woodville, Texas 75979 409-332-0141 Website
