KOI POND 10
by Debbie Cannatella
26"x40" transparent watercolor
(34"x48" FR)
Painting on an oversized watercolor sheet for a 5-foot tall artist isn't always easy, especially when working on a large drafting table. It is an effort not to lay my clothing into the wet paper and this composition background has to move fast and loose. But, I enjoy painting koi, carp, and goldfish as much as I love watching them in a pond. This is one of a series of wildlife paintings that will be in a new one-woman solo exhibition "The Natural World" in the Kuchera Gallery at the Art Center of Corpus Christi, Texas for the month of November 2013.
