Okay, get ready for a barrage of pet portraits! Not really, but I loved doing GOLDIE so much, thought I would do at least a couple more.

Smudge (the cat) is along the same vein as GOLDIE, loose and marginally out of focus, to stop me doing too much detail.

I really like the play of light in these portraits.. I have a few photos I can tweak in Sketch Club on the IPad, to get the contrast more accented before I transfer my drawing to the paper., it helps.

I had fun with this technique (done in pastel on velour paper) ..You mostly all know I like a LOOSE approach, but these last two portraits seem even looser for me...I think. :))

This is 9 x 11" unframed pastel on velour paper.

I like to change my painting up a bit. It is painted on a hardboard panel that has canvas adhered to it. I have used this method for years. I don't care for the spring of a stretched canvas. I had some old photos that I used to paint this painting. 24"x40" and it is signed and framed, but you must come pick it up. I was told that the station burned down and they built another.

I haven’t posted here in a long time, partly because my artistic endeavors have taken a turn toward quilting instead of painting. But this quilt started as a painting which I had printed on fabric and then turned it into a quilt. So maybe I can slip it into the blog! If you are interested in seeing more, let me know!
