  "Sunlit" 8x8, Oil on Gessbord One of my favorite things in all the world is leaves that are lit by the sun. Like nature's stain glass windows. I love walking through woods and coming along little spaces where the light has found an opening. Had to take a little "break" from all the clouds to do something green.

This was in Mane, France at Le Mas du Pont Roman bed and breakfast and was a lovely site in the country. My husband took the photo and I painted it in the studio. 9" x 12" textured oil painting by Niki Gulley • SOLD Day 7, Provence Art Trek:  Plein Air Painting and Photography Workshop  with Niki Gulley and Scott Williams On the last day of our Provence Art Trek, we decided to stay right at our b and b to paint since it was so beautiful. Meanwhile the photographers explored the nearby area, and others relaxed with a morning massage at a nearby spa. Choosing what to paint was a challenge since the grounds are so picturesque. Myself and another painter set up our easels by this lovely lavender-lined Provencal home, while another chose to paint the rose-filled courtyard and another set up by the ancient Roman bridge on the back of the property. It was a gorgeous morning and everyone's paintings turned out great! For lunch we headed into the nearby hill town, grabbed a delicious snack and had time to explore the back alleys and hike up to the town's fortress with panorama views of the sweeping valleys and co...

  "Answer" 8x10, Oil on Canvas Panel I've been trying to work through this one to get at the light beams. I like it enough to say it's done for this study. I am looking forward to using what I've learned with this into a bigger piece. I am also enjoying the play of warm and cool colors.

Scrub Plane Circa 1800's 8 x 8 Oil on Panel Randall Cogburn Click to Purchase on  eBay Auction Frame Example King of Frame: Arroyo Gold My Scrub plane. It was a smoothing plane but converted it to a scrub plane so i can really hog off some wood 'lickity split'. It's seem some use for sure. The iron is a Spear and Jackson Iron that I reground into a concave, slightly rounded edge. When you take shavings from your stock it more or less scoops it out.This one is about 6" long and weighs about 3lbs I guess.
