Let Petite Break Room is the daily newbie from Flower Mound Studio, a scene from Le Vieux Couvent where I will be teaching next August. in Southern France. I'll be giving away a day of French painting right here in North Texas, and the first 10 people to respond to the giveaway later this week will be the winners. Easy as that! No passport, no plane ticket, and no jet lag! On December 13 we'll be painting French landscapes from my trip to Southern France, or you are welcome to bring your own landscape photos for a day of making brilliant color bloom on canvas. Stay tuned right here for the announcement, and be the first to respond to win your free seat in my Irving, Texas class! If you just can hardly wait, you can sign up for all three days of painting right here....

The Old Mill Study, Barbara Haviland

#mill,#water,#building,#11x14,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com This painting was part of a study.  We had the photo and I painted it then watched the demo. I always do that.  I like to change my painting up a bit. It is painted on a hardboard panel that has canvas adhered to it.  I have used this method for years. I don't care for the spring of a stretched canvas.  Thanks for viewing my art ~~Barbara Available  GALLERY INFO Barbara Haviland Fine Art 1579 County Road 1010 Woodville, Texas 75979 409-332-0141 Website

Central Fire Station Lake Charles, La Barbara Haviland

CENTRAL FIRE STATION LAKE CHARLES, LA #CentralFireStation,#HIstoric,#Building,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com Central Fire Station  no longer exists in  Lake Charles, La.  I had some old photos that I used to paint this painting.   24"x40"  and it is signed and framed, but you must come pick it up. I was told that the station burned down and they built another.
I haven’t posted here in a long time, partly because my artistic endeavors have taken a turn toward quilting instead of painting.   But this quilt started as a painting which I had printed on fabric and then turned it into a quilt.  So maybe I can slip it into the blog!  If you are interested in seeing more, let me know!
