Occasionally, I'll take an old painting and see what I can do with it. This one was started on the spot, two summers ago.  I found it in my "too be considered pile" last week, and decided to turn the sunshine on.  The owner of the property had found me painting these late 1800's barns and wistfully commented while I was painting them, "These was real good barns".  Looking back over the past year, I'm thankful for another year of getting to do the thing I love most. I wish you all a joyful Thanksgiving.

Central Fire Station Lake Charles, La Barbara Haviland

  CENTRAL FIRE STATION LAKE CHARLES, LA #CentralFireStation,#HIstoric,#Building,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com Central Fire Station  no longer exists in  Lake Charles, La.  I had some old photos that I used to paint this painting.   24"x40"  and it is signed and framed, but you must come pick it up. I was told that the station burned down and they built another.

 I haven’t posted here in a long time, partly because my artistic endeavors have taken a turn toward quilting instead of painting.   But this quilt started as a painting which I had printed on fabric and then turned it into a quilt.  So maybe I can slip it into the blog!  If you are interested in seeing more, let me know!
