Contemporary Abstract Palette Knife Painting

Red dragonflies are all over the gardens at the Dallas Arboretum. I worked off of a photograph taken by friend Mark Malone. It was an amazing photo, and I went abstract with it. I exaggerated the colors, and implied that the dragonfly was fluttering over some flowers. The oils were applied with a palette knife so there is plenty of texture on the canvas.
