Original Contemporary Modern Art Abstract Paintings by Filomena de Andrade Booth

Desert Lights
24"x24"x1.5"
Acrylic on heavily textured canvas

Although it's mid-February and everything outside is covered in a thin sheet of glistening ice, my thoughts are of warmer days.

Desert Lights is an abstracted, impressionistic painting reminiscent of pueblo cliff dwellings.  I haven't visited that part of the American Southwest yet, but it is definitely on my bucket list!

This original abstract painting measures 24"x24".  The heavily textured canvas is gallery wrapped on 1.5" deep bars.  The painting wraps around the sides and does not need to be framed.  It is wired and ready to hang.

The Old Mill Study, Barbara Haviland

#mill,#water,#building,#11x14,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com This painting was part of a study.  We had the photo and I painted it then watched the demo. I always do that.  I like to change my painting up a bit. It is painted on a hardboard panel that has canvas adhered to it.  I have used this method for years. I don't care for the spring of a stretched canvas.  Thanks for viewing my art ~~Barbara Available  GALLERY INFO Barbara Haviland Fine Art 1579 County Road 1010 Woodville, Texas 75979 409-332-0141 Website

Central Fire Station Lake Charles, La Barbara Haviland

CENTRAL FIRE STATION LAKE CHARLES, LA #CentralFireStation,#HIstoric,#Building,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com Central Fire Station  no longer exists in  Lake Charles, La.  I had some old photos that I used to paint this painting.   24"x40"  and it is signed and framed, but you must come pick it up. I was told that the station burned down and they built another.
I haven’t posted here in a long time, partly because my artistic endeavors have taken a turn toward quilting instead of painting.   But this quilt started as a painting which I had printed on fabric and then turned it into a quilt.  So maybe I can slip it into the blog!  If you are interested in seeing more, let me know!
