Spring, full sun, noontime, 80 degrees. Good being alive.  Drove out to meet friends to paint on a ranch.  The fence gate was locked, and the sun was quickly climbing to mid-morning.  I like to catch the light around nine.  Standing around wondering what to do.  I was all packed and ready, with no where to go.  I got in my car determined to paint.  It was eleven before I found a place to set-up.  Felt good just to go for the painting.  Mixing the paint and piling it on.  Good for my soul.

Central Fire Station Lake Charles, La Barbara Haviland

  CENTRAL FIRE STATION LAKE CHARLES, LA #CentralFireStation,#HIstoric,#Building,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com Central Fire Station  no longer exists in  Lake Charles, La.  I had some old photos that I used to paint this painting.   24"x40"  and it is signed and framed, but you must come pick it up. I was told that the station burned down and they built another.

 I haven’t posted here in a long time, partly because my artistic endeavors have taken a turn toward quilting instead of painting.   But this quilt started as a painting which I had printed on fabric and then turned it into a quilt.  So maybe I can slip it into the blog!  If you are interested in seeing more, let me know!
