Contemporary Floral Painting

Starting with a photograph of John's roses, I quickly added some other flowers to the canvas. This painting is bold, colorful and graphic. It has brushstrokes that you can see, along with palette knife work, both creating lots of texture. This painting is hanging at the studio drying, and while I may make some minor changes, it is completed. The thick paint will take a while to dry, and then I will need to varnish.
