Miniature Floral Paintings, by Melissa A. Torres, 3x3 acrylic on canvas

Sunflowers, 3x3 acrylic on canvas. Available for purchase here at my Etsy shop.

Bluebonnets. SOLD

With the rainy weather and gloomy days we have been having in Texas, I decided to do some paintings to brighten the day. I wanted to paint, but not anything too big or detailed as I am working on commissions as well. It was somewhat of a challenge to use a palette knife on such a small canvas, but once I got the hang of it, it was easier and I truly enjoyed it. I used an acrylic gel medium to achieve the impasto effect. I may have to try a few more of these. Thank you for looking.

The Old Mill Study, Barbara Haviland

#mill,#water,#building,#11x14,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com This painting was part of a study.  We had the photo and I painted it then watched the demo. I always do that.  I like to change my painting up a bit. It is painted on a hardboard panel that has canvas adhered to it.  I have used this method for years. I don't care for the spring of a stretched canvas.  Thanks for viewing my art ~~Barbara Available  GALLERY INFO Barbara Haviland Fine Art 1579 County Road 1010 Woodville, Texas 75979 409-332-0141 Website

Central Fire Station Lake Charles, La Barbara Haviland

CENTRAL FIRE STATION LAKE CHARLES, LA #CentralFireStation,#HIstoric,#Building,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com Central Fire Station  no longer exists in  Lake Charles, La.  I had some old photos that I used to paint this painting.   24"x40"  and it is signed and framed, but you must come pick it up. I was told that the station burned down and they built another.
I haven’t posted here in a long time, partly because my artistic endeavors have taken a turn toward quilting instead of painting.   But this quilt started as a painting which I had printed on fabric and then turned it into a quilt.  So maybe I can slip it into the blog!  If you are interested in seeing more, let me know!
