American Goldfinch

The American Goldfinch is one of many song birds or yard birds, that travel through our property every spring and fall. I didn't realize how many different species of birds came our way until I took the time to really look. We have this one, the Goldfinch, Warblers, Eastern Bluebirds and Cardinals just to name a few. I am planning to paint a series of birds, songs birds first. Later, birds of prey and more water birds. If you especially like a particular bird leave me a note and I will paint it and post it. I like to change my painting up a bit. It is painted on a hardboard panel that has canvas adhered to it. I have used this method for years. I don't care for the spring of a stretched canvas. I had some old photos that I used to paint this painting. 24"x40" and it is signed and framed, but you must come pick it up. I was told that the station burned down and they built another.

I haven’t posted here in a long time, partly because my artistic endeavors have taken a turn toward quilting instead of painting.
