Bruce Bingham's Picking Up Lunch

Picking Up Lunch
By Bruce Bingham
10 x 20
oil on aluminum

I was bummed when Picking Up Lunch didn't
get into the OPA Show, but that's the
way things go. No worries.
There's always another show.

This painting is headed back home to Va. Beach and will
be available through Beach Gallery.
The show is called Life On The Lynnhaven.

One of my favorite things about growing up in that area are the ospreys.
They were almost wiped out because of DDT used
in the 60's and it's wonderful to see them
make a come back.

They have unique characteristics including mating for life and
often returning to the same nest to breed in year after year. My favorite
osprey watching spot is Seashore State Park in Va. Beach.

Thanks for following along:)

The Old Mill Study, Barbara Haviland

#mill,#water,#building,#11x14,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com This painting was part of a study.  We had the photo and I painted it then watched the demo. I always do that.  I like to change my painting up a bit. It is painted on a hardboard panel that has canvas adhered to it.  I have used this method for years. I don't care for the spring of a stretched canvas.  Thanks for viewing my art ~~Barbara Available  GALLERY INFO Barbara Haviland Fine Art 1579 County Road 1010 Woodville, Texas 75979 409-332-0141 Website

Central Fire Station Lake Charles, La Barbara Haviland

CENTRAL FIRE STATION LAKE CHARLES, LA #CentralFireStation,#HIstoric,#Building,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com Central Fire Station  no longer exists in  Lake Charles, La.  I had some old photos that I used to paint this painting.   24"x40"  and it is signed and framed, but you must come pick it up. I was told that the station burned down and they built another.
I haven’t posted here in a long time, partly because my artistic endeavors have taken a turn toward quilting instead of painting.   But this quilt started as a painting which I had printed on fabric and then turned it into a quilt.  So maybe I can slip it into the blog!  If you are interested in seeing more, let me know!
