DIFFERENT STROKES

Always experimenting with how I make a painting is part of what keeps it fun and interesting.  When I'm working experimentally, I usually will use a small panel  (6x8; 8x10…), because I don't want to be fighting the feeling that I may just be "wasting paint".  Removing that pressure allows me to do anything I want.  Also, you can learn just as much experimenting small, and maybe more, since you can do series and multiples.  The purpose of these exercises is to evolve new things I'm interested in trying, such as different color, values, beginning, or as in this one, using thick paint.
