Bruce Bingham's Canadian Plein Air Adventure

The Canadian Plein Air Adventure Continues:

We were always on the lookout for critters and good places to paint
without too much snow and ice.

Bears! OH MY!

Mama and three baby grizzlies. We chose to head in opposite directions.

Canada has lots of trails to hike and we could just pull into a parking lot and find great views just off the road.

This was a fun one to paint with the group of trees snuggled together still wrapped in their blanket of fall color to keep warm as long as possible.

And afterward we stumbled upon this striking view.

Other critter sightings:

Rocky Mountain Sheep

Goats
and a very fluffy coyote!

I did see and elk but couldn't get a photo and I was really disappointed not to see a moose!
Some people saw lots of them.
Darn, guess I'll have to go back;)

Thanks for following along!

The Old Mill Study, Barbara Haviland

#mill,#water,#building,#11x14,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com This painting was part of a study.  We had the photo and I painted it then watched the demo. I always do that.  I like to change my painting up a bit. It is painted on a hardboard panel that has canvas adhered to it.  I have used this method for years. I don't care for the spring of a stretched canvas.  Thanks for viewing my art ~~Barbara Available  GALLERY INFO Barbara Haviland Fine Art 1579 County Road 1010 Woodville, Texas 75979 409-332-0141 Website

Central Fire Station Lake Charles, La Barbara Haviland

CENTRAL FIRE STATION LAKE CHARLES, LA #CentralFireStation,#HIstoric,#Building,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com Central Fire Station  no longer exists in  Lake Charles, La.  I had some old photos that I used to paint this painting.   24"x40"  and it is signed and framed, but you must come pick it up. I was told that the station burned down and they built another.
I haven’t posted here in a long time, partly because my artistic endeavors have taken a turn toward quilting instead of painting.   But this quilt started as a painting which I had printed on fabric and then turned it into a quilt.  So maybe I can slip it into the blog!  If you are interested in seeing more, let me know!
