Juried Show Reception

Saturday, November 3rd from 11am to 6pm | Awards at 2pm

The Dutch Art Gallery proudly presents the “Around The World” themed juried show. What is it about a particular part of the world that draws you in, that fascinates you? It could be the landscape or architecture. Maybe it’s the people and culture. It could be bright swirling colors or a muted palette associated with a particular place. These artists give you their interpretation of our “Around The World” theme. Come travel the world with them.

A special reception will be held during the official show opening on Saturday, November 3rd from 11am-6pm. The first 25 patrons for the opening receive a special “Goodie Bag” that contains a miniature original art piece by one of the show artists. Find out the winners along with the artists at the awards presentation taking place at 2pm. “Around The World” runs through December 22nd.

I like to change my painting up a bit. It is painted on a hardboard panel that has canvas adhered to it. I have used this method for years. I don't care for the spring of a stretched canvas. I had some old photos that I used to paint this painting. 24"x40" and it is signed and framed, but you must come pick it up. I was told that the station burned down and they built another.

I haven’t posted here in a long time, partly because my artistic endeavors have taken a turn toward quilting instead of painting. But this quilt started as a painting which I had printed on fabric and then turned it into a quilt. So maybe I can slip it into the blog! If you are interested in seeing more, let me know!
