Colorful Contemporary Landscape Painting, Abstract Landscape, Tall Trees “Breakthrough“ by Passionate Purposeful Painter Holly Hunter Berry

After walking along a trail for a while under the cover of heavy thick growth I came upon an open area that felt as if I had experienced a "Breakthrough" in my journey. The time walking in the shadows seemed long and so the moment I found an opening, a change in the Light, I was relieved to see I wasn't lost. Can you relate? I wonder, how many times in my life will I experience a breakthrough and will I respond with appreciation and gratitude? I hope I am always grateful! 20"x16"x2" Mixed Media on Canvas/Available Click HERE for purchase info. New "Gondola Ride II" Oil Painting by Contemporary Impressionist Niki Gulley

"Gondola Ride II," Venice ©2019 Niki Gulley 12" x 9" oil painting I painted this piece on location during our Art Trek we taught in Venice while their infamous Carnival celebration was taking place. Since St. Mark's Square can get overrun with tourists, we chose to set up our easels along a side street to enjoy the peacefulness and beauty of the city. I love the magical light that comes flooding in through the canals and is so distinctive of Venice. The simple brick bridge and the one yellow building in the distance sets a perfect backdrop to the gondolier rowing his enchanted passengers through the romantic back canals. New "Sunrise in St. Mark's Square" Oil Painting by Contemporary Impressionist Niki Gulley

"Sunrise in St. Mark's Square" Venice ©2019 Niki Gulley 12" x 16" oil painting I painted this piece on location in Venice during our Art Trek we taught in Venice while their infamous Carnival celebration was taking place. Since St. Mark's Square can get overrun with tourists, we chose to get up with sunrise to enjoy the beauty of the city and the peacefulness of those early morning hours. I love the magical light that comes flooding in from the lagoon and is so distinctive of Venice. Fortunately, I got set up in time to capture the glow from the gas lamps, too, before they went out as daylight approached, adding to the mysterious quality of the plaza. Against a backdrop of the Doge's Palace, a few people stroll across the square and signal the energy of the day that is to come. To see more of my travel paintings, visit  nikigulley.com . Luckily Mother Nature did not disappoint and the sky was filled with magical pinks, golds and oranges. I love the stack of gondolas resting along the shore just waiting to be taken out for ride. Colorful Contemporary Landscape Painting, Abstract Landscape, Tall Trees “Woven Together“ by Passionate Purposeful Painter Holly Hunter Berry

Standing among the trees, watching the light find it's way through the branches, I was mesmerized by the view. I was surrounded by limbs that appeared to hold each other up. The large tree in front of me was the star but the neighboring trees played a part of the story, they were family and "Woven Together". No matter if we share DNA or not when we stand together and weather storms our lives are like woven fabric and provide shelter. Something to think about, maybe we aren't islands after all! 24"x18"x2" Mixed Media on Canvas/Available Click HERE for purchase info. New Summer Aspen Tree Painting by Texas Artist Niki Gulley

"Aspen Skyscrapers" ©2019 Niki Gulley SOLD  • Textured oil painting • 24" x 18" Just Sold!  Recently, we visited Santa Fe and to escape the heat we ventured up the Santo de Cristo mountains to cool down amongst the beautiful, refreshing aspen trees. In this painting I wanted you to feel that child-like wonder of staring up in into the treetops and the heavens above. Choosing calming greens against a lavender-blue peaceful sky and arranging the aspens so that they meet in the middle, suggests a feeling of togetherness. While organizing the outlying trees in a circular pattern and using thick, curving brushstrokes, creates a joyful, playful mood. E-mail  Niki Gulley  for more information on her palette knife aspen and birch tree paintings. See  NikiGulley.com  to see more of her contemporary landscape paintings.

Shadow Dance..Pastel..Texas Artist..Rae Andrews

Another unframed pastel close focus of eucalyptus leaves. I am loving this process of overlaying an abstraction of colors over the subject. I do this in my app Sketch Club on my IPad. It gets me out of the ‘color doldrums’ and can totally surprise the eye.. This one is a pastel on Sennelier La Cate sanded paper.. It measures 14.5” x 19.4” unframed. $350 plus S/H Prints of this image are also available through Fine Art America. Thanks for visiting.. Rae teaches workshops in pastel and watercolor in Europe and America. Contact her through this blog or via her website for more info.. RaeAndrews.com

New "Soaring High" Palette Knife Aspen Tree Painting by Niki Gulley

Soaring High ©2019 Niki Gulley 30" x 48" • Textured mixed media on canvas I wanted this painting to be filled with uplifting colors and energetic strokes all leading you skyward, to soar amongst the clouds. Aspen trees reach towards the heavens while gentle breezes cause the sky to dance while you lay on the ground gazing in wonderment. Happy hues, whimsical shapes and a feeling of movement, hopefully transport you to a carefree childhood moment where all of your worries drift away and dreams are created. Bangalay Corroboree..Pastel..Texas Artist..Rae Andrews

I had Aboriginals in mind when I painted this one. in their language, BANGALAY means Eucalyptus Tree and CORROBOREE means an event/ dance..hence the title.. **** I have since discovered that the language can differ regionally (throughout Australia )and for the species of tree .. So BANGALAY might be incorrect in a general sense , but for the sake of this painting I will keep the title as is.. 19.5” x 25” Pastel on Sennelier La Carte Paper $500 plus S/H Prints of this image are also available through Fine Art America.. Thanks for visiting.. Rae teaches workshops in Europe and America.. For more info please contact Rae through this blog or via her website.. RaeAndrews.com

Winter Aspen Tree Palette Knife Painting by Niki Gulley

“Climbing Trees” ©2018 Niki Gulley 40” x 30” oil on canvas Growing up in the midwest, I loved the first snowfall of the year when everything would get a beautiful dusting of pristine white powder, including even the tiniest of branches in the treetops above. If you caught that moment early enough in the morning before anything had disturbed the intricate frosted web, it was just magical. Then the sun would start rising and peeking through the limbs, and everything would sparkle like diamonds. In Climbing Trees, I wanted to capture that beautiful moment when the sunlight dances through the icing on the treetops and you can feel yourself looking up in wonderment just like you did when you were a kid. *** E-mail -  Niki Gulley for more information on Climbing Trees. "Soaring Dreams II" by Contemporary Impressionist Niki Gulley

"Soaring Dreams II" ©2018 Niki Gulley textured oil painting on canvas • 34" x 34" In this painting I wanted you to feel that child-like wonder of staring up into the treetops and heavens above. Choosing uplifting golds and reds contrasted against a lavender-blue sky with gentle clouds drifting by, I've arranged the aspens in a circular pattern to give you a sense of laying on the ground, surrounded by the forest. Using diagonal leading lines with the tree trunks and limbs, your eye gazes into the focal point where all of the elements come together. Meanwhile, utilizing thick, curving paint strokes adds to that joyful, playful feeling of hope and discovery. To see more of my impressionist palette knife paintings, please visit  NikiGulley.com .
