Small Paintings, Colorful Contemporary Landscape Painting, Trees, Abstract Landscape, Tree, Daily Painter, “After The Fog Clears“ by Passionate Purposeful Painter Holly Hunter Berry

"After The Fog Clears" is what I think to myself at times when there is just too much going on and I need to slow down and maybe even stop for a moment. This painting was inspired by a scene in my neighborhood that I saw after the morning fog was slowing clearing out. I found myself restless as I stopped and waited to see a clearer view of my surroundings. I later realized that the view I experienced during the time spent waiting was beautiful in it's serenity and deserved to be captured. I tried to express the calm by using a narrow range of colors (wasn't easy as I LOVE to use LOTS of color!) . I need to remember that the slow, foggy chapters of my life story have a purpose and it is for my good no matter how unclear at the time. Maybe painting this scene will help me remember? What has your experience been as you waited for the fog to clear in your life? This photo shows it hanging as it comes, in a light brown wooden frame. It is hanging in a grouping of several of my other small paintings available online as well.

The Old Mill Study, Barbara Haviland

#mill,#water,#building,#11x14,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com This painting was part of a study.  We had the photo and I painted it then watched the demo. I always do that.  I like to change my painting up a bit. It is painted on a hardboard panel that has canvas adhered to it.  I have used this method for years. I don't care for the spring of a stretched canvas.  Thanks for viewing my art ~~Barbara Available  GALLERY INFO Barbara Haviland Fine Art 1579 County Road 1010 Woodville, Texas 75979 409-332-0141 Website

Central Fire Station Lake Charles, La Barbara Haviland

CENTRAL FIRE STATION LAKE CHARLES, LA #CentralFireStation,#HIstoric,#Building,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com Central Fire Station  no longer exists in  Lake Charles, La.  I had some old photos that I used to paint this painting.   24"x40"  and it is signed and framed, but you must come pick it up. I was told that the station burned down and they built another.
I haven’t posted here in a long time, partly because my artistic endeavors have taken a turn toward quilting instead of painting.   But this quilt started as a painting which I had printed on fabric and then turned it into a quilt.  So maybe I can slip it into the blog!  If you are interested in seeing more, let me know!
