New "Ruby Path" Texas Wildflower Painting by Niki Gulley

“Ruby Path" ©2020 Niki Gulley 24" x 12" textured oil painting I wanted to capture the rhythm, color, and density of our Indian Paintbrush, bluebonnets and vibrant wildflowers flowing along the grassy mounds in the Texas Hill Country. Making sure to not over blend my thick strokes so that you could see the marks and feel the energy found in nature, Ruby Path is loaded with texture, color and movement. Vertical diagonal rows of ruby jewel tones lead your eye to the foliage in the distance, inviting you to stroll amongst the gorgeous wildflowers. Arranging the Indian Paintbrush  and bluebonnets vertically are designed to lift your spirits and add joy to your home. New "Symphony in Springtime V" Abstract Wildflower Painting by Niki Gulley

“Symphony in Springtime V" ©2020 Niki Gulley 24" x 24" textured oil painting on wrap around canvas I wanted to show Texas' spring landscape in a completely different way. Making sure not to over blend my thick strokes so that you could see the marks and feel the energy found in nature. Repeating patterns and waves of color create a harmony within the painting, while rendering the bluebonnets and wildflowers along with their surroundings abstractly plays with taking a traditional subject matter and showing it in a contemporary way. With an aura of mystery, late day light touches the tops of the grasses and hills with glimmers of hope. *** For more details on my other Texas paintings, please e-mail  Niki Gulley. On a Sunny Day, New Contemporary Landscape Painting by Sheri Jones

On a Sunny Day 11x14 oil on canvas While out on a walk I saw this pink house and took a photo. I've had the image for years and stumbled on it recently.  I liked the pink house against the spring greens. You can tell the homeowner loves their little cottage. New "Symphony in Springtime IV" Abstract Wildflower Painting by Niki Gulley

“Symphony in Springtime IV" ©2020 Niki Gulley 36" x 36" textured oil painting on wrap around canvas I wanted to show Texas' spring landscape in a completely different way. With an aura of mystery and the promise of what tomorrow holds, late day light sparkles over the horizon casting its warm glow kissing everything it touches with glimmers of hope. The vague suggestion of bluebonnets and colorful wildflowers peek through the dancing golden tangle, leaving the landscape loose and free so that your imagination can tell its story. May you relish the joy in the beauty of nature, bathing in the moment and looking forward to what tomorrow will bring. *** For more details on my other Texas paintings, please e-mail  Niki Gulley. New "Symphony in Springtime III" Abstract Wildflower Painting by Niki Gulley

“Symphony in Springtime III" ©2020 Niki Gulley 36" x 36" textured oil painting on wrap around canvas In this painting, I wanted to capture the rhythm, color, and density of our bluebonnets, Indian Paintbrush and vibrant wildflowers flowing along the grassy rises and falls of the berms in the Texas Hill Country. Making sure not to over blend my thick strokes so that you could see the marks and feel the energy found in nature. Repeating patterns and waves of color create a harmony within the painting, while rendering the blooms and their surroundings abstractly plays with taking a traditional subject matter and showing it in a contemporary way. *** For more details on my other Texas paintings, please e-mail  Niki Gulley. New "Red Carpet Ride" Texas Wildflower Painting by Niki Gulley

“Red Carpet Ride" ©2020 Niki Gulley 24" x 36" textured oil painting on wrap around canvas In this Texas wildflower series, I wanted to capture the excitement and energy felt during a beautiful day in April when the Indian Paintbrush, bluebonnets and wildflowers are painting the horizon in gorgeous shades of reds and blues.  Driving through the Hill Country late one day, the sun was just starting to drop, casting this golden hue across all of the wildflowers it hit causing them to glow and dance in the warm light. Deep, long shadows and the abundance of rich crimson Indian Paintbrush added to the drama and magic of the moment. Focusing on the patterns of color and contrast of lights and darks, I wanted to communicate the emotion felt being surrounded by all of this Texas beauty. Colorful Contemporary Landscape Painting, Abstract Landscape, Autumn Trees “Bathed in the Glow“ by Passionate Purposeful Painter Holly Hunter Berry

Ok, I certainly took liberties when I painted these green trees with such vivid colors but I just had to! I was standing there and watched the sun's light bursting through the trees and just had to exaggerate the intensity of color in an effort to translate what I felt. There was such a peace and sense of security as the light bathed all in it's path in addition to an air of excitement as I sensed the moment was brief. I hope I captured that experience, a special time of day when all felt "right". Thank you for stopping to visit and I'd love to hear about your experiences observing the Light! 18"x18"x2" Mixed Media on Canvas/Available Click HERE for purchase info. Morning Light Show, New Contemporary Landscape Painting by Sheri Jones

Morning Light Show 12x16 oil on linen panel I created this as a demo for the Mansfield Art Association.  When planning this painting I did a value study and a small color study. (see below) I've also created a 9x12 of the same scene. When I put so much in the planning the execution is a spontaneous reaction.I touched it up a bit in the studio, signed  it and called it finished.   To purchase or see more http://www.sherijonesart.com Sheri@sherijonesart.com http://www.sheriart.blogspot.com. On a Rural Route, New Contemporary Landscape Painting by Sheri Jones

On a Rural Route 8x10 oil on canvas My goal with this small study was to focus on the values of each shape. It forced me to create shapes with values attached. It was a fun practice and one I picked up from a friend, Beth Eschbach. She provided a demo with the Lake Granbury Art Association on values. It is always inspiring to see another artist's process.    To purchase or see more http://www.sherijonesart.com Sheri@sherijonesart.com http://www.sheriart.blogspot.com. "Tranquil Morning" from Santorini, Greece by Niki Gulley

Day 5, Sunrise in Oia - Greece Art Trek 8" x 10" oil painting by Niki Gulley The next morning of our Greece Plein Air Painting and Photography Workshop, the photographers got up early to shoot sunrise and I decided to join them. Town was so peaceful and the views were incredible. I chose this strategic location to capture the iconic blue domes over the caldera. It was cloudier this morning which created a peaceful feeling with softer sunrise colors that spread across the sky. I hope you, too, can feel the beauty and tranquility of this special spot. Enjoying a drink that afternoon at our gorgeous pool view. *** If you're interested in joining us on one of our upcoming Art Treks or Foodie Treks to Iceland or Tuscany, please let us know.  Spaces fill up quickly! "Pedestal to the Sky" from Athens Greece by Niki Gulley

Day 1, Greece Art Trek:  The Acropolis, Athens 9" x 12" oil painting by Niki Gulley On the first full day of our plein air painting and photography workshop in Greece, we visited the Acropolis in Athens along with several other ancient sites. It was truly awe inspiring to see a part of history from the fifth century BC and to imagine what life must have been like as democracy was beginning. In the afternoon, the painters set up their easels on top of the beautiful balcony at our hotel to paint this beautiful view of the Parthenon while the photographers continued touring the city. In this oil painting, I wanted to capture a sense of scale with the Acropolis, and suggest how it rises above the city on this massive mound, towering majestically over the city, kissed by the clouds above. Breakfast from the terrace of our hotel. What a view of the Acropolis! *** If you're interested in joining us on one of our upcoming Art Treks or Foodie Treks to Ice...

Colorful Contemporary Landscape Painting, Trees, Pathway, Abstract Landscape, Tree, “Open to Possibilities“ by Passionate Purposeful Painter Holly Hunter Berry

Road trip! Although I am not at all interested in driving on the freeways here in Houston, I occasionally entertain the idea of leaving the city and exploring the country by driving, not flying. Open skies, winding roads through mountains, breathtaking fields of color all seem like the exact prescription needed for recharging and inspiration. I am guilty of sticking to a familiar routine but I want to push myself to explore... to trust the road ahead to lead to new adventures. There is so much to see and experience...I hope to never stop being curious and "open to possibilities"! 24"x24"x2" Mixed Media on Canvas/Available Click HERE for purchase info. Not Your Typical Flowers by artist Pat Meyer

16 x 20 oil on linen panel contact artist to purchase Pat@Meyer.net During the winter months, it is hard to find different stunning flowers.  The local florist was so kind as to provide stunning unusual flowers.  The Big Yellow flower I don't know the name but sure wanted to be the star of this painting.  Balance it out with the red, black and white flower.  It gives this painting an exotic feel.  Like in life we have other flowers that are typical but still lovely. www.PatMeyer-artist.com Signature Member Artist of Texas, Oil Painters of America, American Impressionist Society, NOAPS, WAOW, Artist of the Heartland

"Ross Castle" Oil Painting from Ireland by Niki Gulley

"Ross Castle" ©2020 Niki Gulley 9" x 12" textured oil painting Day 7:   Ireland ART TREK Afternoon location: Ross Castle, Killarney Plein Air Painting and Photography Workshop with Niki Gulley and Scott Williams On the last afternoon of our Ireland Art Trek, we visited Ross Castle. While the photographers explored the castle and grounds, the painters set up their easels to capture this majestic view of the castle and lake. Although we didn't have enough time to finish, you can get idea of the overall scene and the fast moving clouds with a tiny patch of blue sky poking through. Afterwards, we enjoyed a peaceful boat tour of the lake and came back to our home base, to share our photos and paintings of our trip. What a great way to end a wonderful Art Trek with new friends!
