"Soaring Dreams II" by Contemporary Impressionist Niki Gulley

"Soaring Dreams II" ©2020 Niki Gulley
textured oil painting on canvas • 34" x 34"

There is just something about being a kid and laying on your back staring up into trees and the heavens beyond. In order to convey that, I’ve arranged the aspens in a circular pattern to give you a sense of laying on the ground, surrounded by the forest. Using diagonal leading lines with the tree trunks and limbs, your eye gazes into the focal point where all of the elements come together. By choosing vibrant golds and reds contrasted against a lavender-blue sky with gentle clouds drifting by, just adds to that joyful, playful feeling of hope and discovery.

The Old Mill Study, Barbara Haviland

#mill,#water,#building,#11x14,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com This painting was part of a study.  We had the photo and I painted it then watched the demo. I always do that.  I like to change my painting up a bit. It is painted on a hardboard panel that has canvas adhered to it.  I have used this method for years. I don't care for the spring of a stretched canvas.  Thanks for viewing my art ~~Barbara Available  GALLERY INFO Barbara Haviland Fine Art 1579 County Road 1010 Woodville, Texas 75979 409-332-0141 Website
