NYC's Finest, by Melissa A. Torres, 8x10 oil on canvas

Being from NY, one of the things I loved to eat was the Black and White Cookie.  Now that I live in Texas, it's been hard to find. Occasionally I have found them at the local grocery store, but none beat the ones I had in NYC when I'd visit my dad in Manhattan. I looked for a recipe so I could make them at home, and finally found one that was easy enough to make. They bring back so many good memories from my childhood. I think this is why I love them so much.

The Old Mill Study, Barbara Haviland

#mill,#water,#building,#11x14,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com This painting was part of a study.  We had the photo and I painted it then watched the demo. I always do that.  I like to change my painting up a bit. It is painted on a hardboard panel that has canvas adhered to it.  I have used this method for years. I don't care for the spring of a stretched canvas.  Thanks for viewing my art ~~Barbara Available  GALLERY INFO Barbara Haviland Fine Art 1579 County Road 1010 Woodville, Texas 75979 409-332-0141 Website
