Like a wave of color moving through the desert, this river of wildflowers flowed towards a distant plateau. Their soft forms seemed so delicate beside the hard edges of the rock formations.

The Old Mill Study, Barbara Haviland

I always do that.  I like to change my painting up a bit. It is painted on a hardboard panel that has canvas adhered to it.  I have used this method for years.
