The Arboretum in Dallas is such an amazing resource for us that I can't help but take advantage of it. They always have a spectacular display of tulips announcing that spring has arrived and it is time to put away your winter clothing. I chose this spot with the variegated tulips set against the rows of flowers, along with the Degolyer house in the distance in order to give the composition a sense of scale.

I like to change my painting up a bit. It is painted on a hardboard panel that has canvas adhered to it. I have used this method for years. I don't care for the spring of a stretched canvas. I had some old photos that I used to paint this painting. 24"x40" and it is signed and framed, but you must come pick it up. I was told that the station burned down and they built another.

I haven’t posted here in a long time, partly because my artistic endeavors have taken a turn toward quilting instead of painting. But this quilt started as a painting which I had printed on fabric and then turned it into a quilt. So maybe I can slip it into the blog! If you are interested in seeing more, let me know!
