Contemporary Impressionistic Floral Landscape Palette Knife Original Oil Painting by Sheri Jones

Lost in Lillies 14x11 oil on linen I spotted these day lillies at the master garden center in Granbury. It is always a feast for the eyes.  I love the bright red/orange of this flower.  The distance row of trees was a nice contrast.  There is also a large building in site that I choose to leave out! I love using my artist license.  To purchase or see more http://www.sherijonesart.com Sheri@sherijonesart.com http://www.sheriart.blogspot.com. Thank you for viewing my art.  Sheri Jones

Painting Lupines along the Lake with Contemporary Impressionist Niki Gulley

12" x 24" textured mixed media painting on canvas • ©Niki Gulley We enjoyed our previous day so much along the lakeshore in Colorado that we decided to return there again the next day. Scott was highly amused watching the paddle boarders and their pups. Meanwhile, I got to work capturing this gorgeous view. A path was beaten down through the thick mass of aspen trees, leaving a perfect peep hole through the woods out onto the lake. Lupine and wildflowers dotted the grasses adding their joy and color to this perfect peaceful moment! Painting Tranquility in Colorado's Rocky Mountains

Here is my finished painting of the Dillon Reservoir.  Or, e-mail  Niki Gulley  for more information on her contemporary landscape paintings.  See  NikiGulley.com

Contemporary Impressionist Niki Gulley Painting Aspen Trees in Santa Fe, NM

12" x 24" textured mixed media painting on canvas When we visited Santa Fe this month, the temperature started rising as the weekend went on, so we headed up into the mountains for cooler breezes to paint the beautiful aspen trees. I was attracted to the white trunks with their unique peeling bark and dark protruding knots. I liked how the dramatic dappled light came through the trees and illuminated the grasses and foliage causing the landscape to glow. Becoming totally lost in the moment, I set out to capture the peacefulness and contentment I felt that day. Abstract Landscape Art Painting "All Is Good!" by Texas Artist Holly Hunter Berry

FRESH OFF THE EASEL   It is easy to forget in the midst of drama that we can actually find peace. A while ago I was grateful to have been able to spend time at a friend's place, enjoying the sun, breeze and "4-legged family members"! Seems that I find myself going more often to the open country to just be still to find the calm we often need. I wanted to create a painting that expressed the feeling of being away from the constant turmoil we have all been dealing with and to just relax with the beautiful blue sky and the quiet surroundings. My hope is that you too will be able to take a deep breath and relax as you view this painting... Remember, "All Is Good"! 12"x12"x1.75" Mixed Media on Canvas Click HERE for purchase info. New "Awakenings" by Niki Gulley Will Be Exhibiting at Grand Rapids Art Prize

"Awakenings" ©2021 Niki Gulley  Four 36" x 36" canvases to form a 72" x 72" quadriptych • Textured Mixed Media Painting In “Awakenings” I wanted you to feel that child-like wonder of staring up into the treetops, mesmerized by the scene overhead. I’ve arranged the trunks in a spiral pattern so that you have the sense of laying on the ground, surrounded by the woods as they connect with the heavens above. Flowing from one season to the next, my goal is to not only show the beauty of nature, but also bring awareness to the importance of protecting our forests. Trees are the lifeblood of our planet. We are their stewards, and as such, it is up to us to ensure their survival. The ascending vortex and the seasons continuous transitioning, reminds us of the cyclical forces of life and what our place can be within it. Possibilities are endless. Relax. Contemplate. Dream.  *** I'm honored that this painting will be exhibited at Grand Rapids International Art...

"Evolving Seasons" Large Scale Quad Painting by Contemporary Impressionist Niki Gulley

"Evolving Seasons" ©2021 by Niki Gulley Four 48" x 36" textured oil painting to form a 48" x 144" quadriptych I wanted to create a large horizontal quadriptych, or four piece painting, that would flow from one season to the next to show the beauty of the forest throughout the year. Working on such a large scale invites you to step right into the scene and take a walk through the woods, enjoying all of the peace and joy that nature has to offer. Here you can see all four paintings in a row, flowing from spring to summer and fall to winter. Rather than show the same exact scene at four different times of year, I decided I would rather show one long forest evolving from one season to the next to create a better harmony across the canvases. From the ground gently undulating underneath, to the pine trees flowing from canvas to canvas, to the rhythm created from aspens and oaks repeating, to the foliage and pops of color emerging and drifting into the distance, ...
