Painting Lupines along the Lake with Contemporary Impressionist Niki Gulley

12" x 24" textured mixed media painting on canvas • ©Niki Gulley

We enjoyed our previous day so much along the lakeshore in Colorado that we decided to return there again the next day. Scott was highly amused watching the paddle boarders and their pups. Meanwhile, I got to work capturing this gorgeous view. A path was beaten down through the thick mass of aspen trees, leaving a perfect peep hole through the woods out onto the lake. Lupine and wildflowers dotted the grasses adding their joy and color to this perfect peaceful moment!

Or, e-mail Niki Gulley for more information on her contemporary landscape paintings.

The Old Mill Study, Barbara Haviland

#mill,#water,#building,#11x14,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com This painting was part of a study.  We had the photo and I painted it then watched the demo. I always do that.  I like to change my painting up a bit. It is painted on a hardboard panel that has canvas adhered to it.  I have used this method for years. I don't care for the spring of a stretched canvas.  Thanks for viewing my art ~~Barbara Available  GALLERY INFO Barbara Haviland Fine Art 1579 County Road 1010 Woodville, Texas 75979 409-332-0141 Website

Central Fire Station Lake Charles, La Barbara Haviland

CENTRAL FIRE STATION LAKE CHARLES, LA #CentralFireStation,#HIstoric,#Building,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com Central Fire Station  no longer exists in  Lake Charles, La.  I had some old photos that I used to paint this painting.   24"x40"  and it is signed and framed, but you must come pick it up. I was told that the station burned down and they built another.
I haven’t posted here in a long time, partly because my artistic endeavors have taken a turn toward quilting instead of painting.   But this quilt started as a painting which I had printed on fabric and then turned it into a quilt.  So maybe I can slip it into the blog!  If you are interested in seeing more, let me know!
